Wire Drawing Die Manufacturing: How Is Annealing Done?

After the 304 Stainless Steel Sprocket is installed and commissioned, it can produce qualified workpieces normally, and this process is called the service of the die. In general, we always hope that the mold can have a long enough service period to meet the actual needs of production.

But the mold in the manufacturing process may produce some defects, or in the service process gradually appeared some defects, such as micro-crack, light wear, deformation, etc., in this condition mold although hidden but still can continue to work, this kind of defects but did not lose the service ability of the state is called mold damage.

If the wire drawing die is damaged for some reason, can not continue to serve, this is called the failure of the die. In the production, where the main working parts of the die are damaged, can not continue to press out qualified workpiece, that is, the die failure. The failure of stamping dies is generally in the form of plastic deformation, wear, fracture or cracking, metal fatigue and corrosion, etc.

Annealing process:

Annealing method is generally electrical contact, electrodes through the annealing wheel (contact wheel) will be a large current evenly into the copper wire to achieve the preheating and heating of the copper wire, preheating is the copper wire heated to the highest temperature not to oxidation, generally about 250 degrees; heating is the copper wire heated to the annealing temperature, generally 500 ~ 550 degrees, so that the recrystallization, heating section with steam protection to prevent the copper wire oxidation, and then after water cooling, the completion of the annealing (softening) process.

Technical requirements

1, annealing voltage and pulling speed and closing speed should be kept in sync.
2, annealing current and annealing wire diameter square proportional to the size of the wire diameter should be set according to the annealing current. Ensure that the performance of annealed soft copper wire in line with the provisions of GB3953 or the ideal performance.
3, the closing tension is adjusted by the pressure of the wire storage cylinder.
4, the diameter deviation of the copper wire should comply with the provisions of GB3953.

Lengthen the life

After repeated use, the wire drawing die usually wears out. We quickly analyze the causes of damage to the drawing die and avoid these, which can effectively extend the life of the drawing die.
1. Uneven insertion or clearance of carbide steel bushings can easily cause U-shaped cracks in the drawing process;
2. In the laser punching process of diamond die, if the sintering trace is not clean or the heat is not uniform, the metal catalyst and adhesive in the diamond layer will gather and easily form pits in the die.
3. Unreasonable design of die hole, too small opening in the entrance lubrication area and too long solidification area will lead to poor lubrication, resulting in die wear and even rupture.
Finding these causes and developing the necessary response plan can effectively extend the replacement of drawing dies, reduce production costs and improve efficiency.
